About the Session

Wireless lighting systems are no longer reserved for temporary setups and emergency fixes. In theatres, arenas and live events, they have become part of the daily workflow.

Moderated by Vlad Kraynov from LumenRadio, this session looks at practical use of wireless DMX and CRMX technologies in real production environments, with focus on implementation, RF challenges, reliability and lessons learned from the field.

Olivier Grimmeau from Lamp & Pencil will focus on theatrical applications and special effects work for productions at major UK venues. His projects include embedded lighting in costumes, wireless props, mixed RF environments and combining technologies from Astera, RC4 and custom-built systems.

The session will also touch on antenna visibility, power constraints, RDM workflows and backstage challenges that rarely appear in product brochures. Rather than a product presentation, this session is intended as an open conversation around practical workflows and real production experience. Expect project photos, implementation stories, technical discussions and Q&A from people using wireless technologies every day in theatre and live events.
